Summary

The Nurse Manager directs and supervises patient care functions and activities in the Acute Care unit. The Acute Care unit at Phoebe Worth is a 25 bed unit with an average daily census of 20. The patients served are inpatient and swing bed patients. The manager interprets and implements policies, procedures, standards and regulations to personnel, patients, medical staff, and the public. Performs duties in any nursing capacity as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2 year/Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • 4 year/Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)

Work Experience

  • 2+ years Experience in an Acute Healthcare Setting in area of specialty with proven management skills (Required)

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current Georgia license
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Essential Functions

  • Exhibit strong leadership skills fostering a positive work environment with the interdisciplinary care team providing excellent patient care.
  • Strong communication skills with physicians, leadership, staff, patients, and families.
  • Manage patient services for swing bed patients such as post-op appointments with physicians.

  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
