Job Summary
As a Pharmacy Clinical Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Applying Lean Healthcare skills to facilitate projects endorsed by hospital leadership and/or the pharmacy director/clinical manager.
- Management of hospital inpatient formulary and formulary for indigent med program.
- All aspects of pharmaceutical care to include:
- Safe and appropriate use of medications
- Managing selected drug therapies
- Dispensing, compounding, and labeling of pharmaceuticals
- Proper storage of pharmaceuticals
- Participating in the education of patients, nurses, and physicians.
This role will be:
- 50% administrative duties
- 50% clinical responsibilities
Qualifications
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy.
- Preferred: Completion of a Residency or Fellowship in Infectious Disease.
- Licensure: Active Pharmacist license in the state of Georgia.
Management of Area
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations in the area of specialty.
- Assists with development and implementation of policies and procedures for area of specialty.
- Develops and maintains standards for area of specialty, including, but not limited to: training, competency, customer service, products, and processes.
- Assists with performance evaluations for personnel working in area of responsibility.
- Assists with departmental budget preparation as relates to area of specialty.
Clinical Skills
- Ensures quality of services provided in area of specialty.
- Maintains competency in clinical skills needed for area of specialty.
- Assists in clinical training for pharmacist and technical staff in area of specialty.
- Fulfills educational requirements and keeps current with knowledge in area of specialty.
Pharmacy Skills Toolbox
- Develops and shows competency on the following skills to perform daily pharmacist functions. Other skills may be added as additional clinical services are developed.
- Order Processing/Profile Review - includes assessment for safety, efficacy, appropriateness, and accuracy.
