Job Summary

Performs a variety of standardized noninvasive cardiovascular tests with accuracy and precision necessary to satisfy department standards and physician interpreters while projecting a professional image, conserving hospital property and assets and meeting competency requirements. Provides direct patient care.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology / Sonography and 4 years additional relevant experience is acceptable. Required

Work Experience

  • 3 years Cardiovascular Ultrasound Required

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must be able to sit for ARDMS Registry in Adult Echo or Vascular Technology Required

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role.
  • Understands equipment operation.
  • Maintains equipment in working order. Troubleshoots equipment problems.
  • Uses technology to increase productivity. Adapts to new technology.
  • Perform required exams without supervision that meet quality standards of the lab and interpreting physicians.
  • Act as a resource in area of expertise.
  • Provide leadership and training opportunities to department through department stand ups and on the job training.

  • Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility to include any specialty certification requirements (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
