Qualifications

  • 2 year / Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology/ Sonography (Required)
  • In lieu of an Associates Degree, a Minimum of 4 years additional relevant experience is acceptable

Work Experience

  • 4 - 5 years Cardiovascular Ultrasound (Required)

Licenses and Certifications

Required Certifications/Licensures:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Adult Echo or Pediatric Echo or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)

ABLE TO PERFORM ADULT ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY/ VASCULAR ULTRASOUND EXAMS

  • Perform required exams without supervision that meet quality standards of the lab and interpreting physicians
  • Act as a resource in area of expertise
  • Provide leadership and training opportunities to department through department stand ups and on the job training
  • Adult Echo/ Pediatric Echo/ Adult Vascular Exams
  • TEE Echocardiography
  • Assist OR with ultrasound guided procedures
  • Perform Pediatric Echocardiography as required

Additional Duties

  • Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines
  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization
  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs)
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs
  • For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate
