Capital Buyer - Purchasing

JOB SUMMARY
  • Responsible for all necessary acquisition functions associated with the purchase of medical and non-medical equipment and IT equipment. Responsible for development of equipment specifications and development of negotiation strategies associated with acquiring the equipment at competitive pricing. Negotiates the cost of freight to minimize the impact of large shipment costs. Works directly with capital improvement projects within the health system to include construction projects as defined. Scope and Nature of Work: Supports multiple facilities for contract development and administration needs, which includes all departments, clinical and non-clinical.


Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • 2 year / Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field (Required)
  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • 4 - 5 years experience in negotiating large dollar capital purchases (Required)
  • 4 - 5 years working on capital improvement projects with time driven delivery requirements (Required)
  • 1 - 2 years experience with MD Buyline and/or ECRI or similar (Preferred)

  • Preferred Certifications/Licensures: Certified Materials and Resource Professional
