Director, Patient Safety

Reporting to the system Chief Quality Officer (CQO), The Director Patient Safety , in partnership with the System CQO, has the responsibility and  accountability for the strategic direction for the patient safety program for Phoebe Putney Health System. The Dir. Patient Safety provides leadership in developing a culture of trust and in identifying opportunities to enhance highly reliable care. Fosters a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization. Collaborates with executive leadership across disciplines to set priorities and integrate safety program initiatives into operational plans. Mentors and develops the quality team to build their skill and competency. Uses data to drive change and sustain improvement resulting in a decrease of harm that reaches the patient and subsequently reduced costs to the organization. Maintains compliance with external regulations and agencies.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

4 year Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (Required)

Master's Degree in relevant field (Preferred)


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum  3 years in healthcare patient safety programming (Required)


CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES

Preferred Certifications: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or attained within 18 months of employment.

Preferred certification in improvement science e.g. LEAN Management
