JOB SUMMARY
  • The EP Cardio Tech, III facilitates quality management of the care of patients undergoing ICD and Pacemaker interrogation. These procedures require the management of patients undergoing various tests associated with the Device Clinic and require the ability to work closely with internal and external departments such as the stress lab, CHF clinic, EP Clinic and lab, and nuclear medicine. This position is also responsible for tracking outcomes and maintaining a database of device patients. Keeps current on medical and patient care devices associated with this service. Maintains close ties with contacts at different facilities and with manufacturers to gather information on devices, passing this information on to staff. Creates and implements teaching programs and curricula. Compiles and evaluates data and maintains records and supplies. Maintains customer/patient flow. May be required to travel to outreach device clinics as assigned. Inpatient hospital devices interrogations. Potential for weekend, holiday coverage, and after-hours coverage. Performs other related job duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License and meet auto insurability requirements as approved by Phoebe Putney Health System's insurance company.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
  • May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
  • May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
  • May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
  • May be scheduled as needed including overtime


Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Must possess one of the following:
  • 2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • 2 years Related field (Required)
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES
  • Required Certifications/Licensures: Registered Nurse (RN) must have a current Georgia license. OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Required.
  • Certifications/Licensures: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) Required. IBHRE certified (International Board of Health Rhythm Examiners) Preferred
