JOB SUMMARY

We are in search of a skilled painter to fill this position.

  • Under general supervision, perform basic general technical tasks on:
    • Electrical systems
    • Fire safety systems
    • HVAC systems
    • Mechanical and plumbing systems
    • Architectural systems, which may include but are not limited to interior and exterior doors (including fire and some doors), ceiling systems, and wall systems.
  • General tasks may include:
    • Troubleshooting minor issues on the pneumatic tube system
    • Patient beds
    • Nurse call systems
    • Televisions
  • General tasks also include shop cleanup and other general maintenance and upkeep.
  • Work with a team and take initiative.
  • Help maintain departmental compliance with governmental standards with documentation and with computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission, and vision of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
  • Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills.
  • Wear protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License and meet auto insurability requirements as approved by Phoebe Putney Health System's insurance company.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
  • May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
  • May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
  • May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
  • Long-distance or air travel as needed - not to exceed 10% travel.
  • May be scheduled as needed including overtime.
  • As part of employment, occupants will be entering/leaving secure medication storage areas. Please note these medications should not be handled by non-licensed personnel and it is the occupant's responsibility to ensure the area remains locked when exiting. Any issues or concerns regarding medications can be addressed with a member of the Nursing or Pharmacy staff.

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Vocational Technical Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Maintenance (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 0 - 1 year Electrical repair, HVAC, and/or Mechanical maintenance, installation, or contracting (Required)
  • 1 - 2 years Healthcare or hospital facility maintenance setting (Preferred)

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSES

  • No Certifications are Required or Preferred

GENERAL SKILLS

  • Prefer the ability to read blueprints, basic schematic, and basic wiring diagrams; or require the ability to learn and assimilate this skill quickly.
