JOB SUMMARY A Sleep Polysomnographic Technician performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and/or the clinical director (MD, PhD, DO) or designee. A Polysomnographic Technician can provide supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

● Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines

● Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization

● Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures

● Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs)

● Attends sta meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time. Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.

● Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.

WORKING CONDITIONS

● General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.

● May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.

● May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body uids, or infectious organisms.

● May be required to change from one task to another of dierent nature without loss of eciency or composure.

● Periods of high stress and uctuating workloads may occur.

● May be scheduled as needed including overtime OSHA CATEGORY

● OSHA Category I - Employees will all be exposed to specic hazards as a regular part of their job.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Successful completion of an accredited polysomnography program, or a minimum of 6 months of experience as a Sleep Trainee with documented prociency in all required competencies; or completion of an A-Step accredited course and is eligible for the A-step examination (Required)

● 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences or related eld (Preferred) EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

● 6+ months of direct patient care experience (Required) CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES

● Required Certications/Licensures: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
