JOB SUMMARY
  • Team Leader will oversee the day to day operations of Sleep & Neurodiagnostic departments. The Team Leader acts as a staff liaison and provides technical support in meeting daily operational objectives such as staffing, inventory management, and skill mix management for optimal patient care. Physician support and in meeting patient safety, practice standards, and regulatory compliance requirements. Assists Manger as a member of the leadership team for the Sleep & Neurodiagnostic department. Team leader will be responsible for filling in when management is unavailable. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality. Team Leader will be an asset in obtaining ACHC accreditation through quality review and education. Ensures the technologists are aware of any protocol changes. Informs the technologist about any concerns that the Neurologist and/or Sleep physicians have about testing/procedure issues. Defines team roles and responsibilities. Sets goals and objectives. Ensures progress toward goals and may give performance feedback. Acknowledges individual and team performance.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs)
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
  • May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
  • May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
  • May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
  • May be scheduled as needed including overtime


Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 year / Associate Degree in Allied Health program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (Required)
  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Allied Health program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 years' experience in Sleep or Neurodiagnostics (Required)

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES

  • Required Certifications/Licensures: AHA BLS, Registration by ABRET (American Board of Registration of EEG and Evoked Potential Technologists, Inc.) in Electroencephalography (R.EEG T.), Evoked potentials (R.EP T.), or Nerve conductions (R. NCS T.), Successful completion of a national registry examination in a minimum of two modalities, or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist; or Current Georgia Registered Respiratory Therapist License verified by the Georgia Composite State Board
