JOB SUMMARY
- Performs complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the supervision of the Maternal Fetal Medicine physician for diagnosis and treatment of high-risk OB patients. Prepares and directs patients for examinations. Performs OB diagnostic procedures to ensure the delivery of quality care. Participates in quality control procedures. Contributes to the efficient operation of the department. Maintains confidentiality. Performs other duties as assigned. The technologist is to provide very good service; that is to treat every patient with respect, courtesy and explain the exam to the patient. The technologist must be able to work together with others providing a positive work environment. The technologist is responsible to provide a clean and safe environment for the patients, fellow employees and themselves. Maintains professional development and education.
Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Vocational / Technical Degree in Ultrasound Technology (Required)
- 1-2 years MFM scanning experience (Required)
- 3-4 years OBGYN scanning experience (Required)
- 0-1 year Genetic screening and fetal echo scanning experience (Preferred)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) (Required)
- Registered in OB/GYN from ARDMS (Required)
- Nuchal Translucency certification (preferred)
- Fetal Echo eligibility (preferred)
