JOB SUMMARY The Vice President Nursing serves as a leader over the following areas at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital – Emergency, Critical Care, Respiratory, Renal Dialysis and Women's Children's Services, and is responsible for assisting with performance excellence in Nursing Practice and Clinical Operations. This role supports the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). The focus of this role is to implement key initiatives and innovations that contribute to the plan, coordination and leadership of nursing and clinical performance in the provision of high quality cost-effective care delivering value to our patients and the communities that we serve. The VP Nursing will assist with execution of quality initiatives and facilitate work that produces site benchmark performance in the nurse sensitive indicators and other quality indicators. The leader will implement action plans to improve and sustain patient experience measures that support a world-class experience. The VP will collaborate with the site nursing leaders to ensure constant regulatory and accreditation readiness. The individual will partner with Human Resources on the recruitment of talented staff and assist with retention efforts. The VP will serve as a mentor for the Directors of Nursing and nursing managers.

- Administratively responsible for the strategic planning, development, operations and on-going improvement for all of the facets of the Emergency Center Service Line, Critical Care and Women's Children's Services. Uses skills in leadership, problem solving, fiscal analysis, organizational development, organizational team building, financial and statistical data analysis, sales and marketing, human resources, physician relations, and patient relations.
Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in related field (Required)
- Master Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration (Preferred)
- 4 - 5 years Experience in hospital nursing leadership (Required)
