Job Summary:
Works collaboratively with users of clinical information systems, including nurses, physicians, ancillary staff, management, and information systems analysts. Responsible for coordinating aspects of planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of clinical information systems. Utilizes the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine clinical functions that are suitable for computer application and to ensure the Information systems are consistent with professional standards of clinical practice.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Master's Degree preferred
Work Experience:
- Project Management experience required
- 3 years Experience in Clinical Informatics required
- 3 years Change management experience required
- 3 years Experience with large-scale education roll out required
- 3 years Clinical Experience required
- 3 years Experience in implementing and or upgrading a clinical application in a healthcare setting required
- 3 years Experience in Project Management experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
- RN, RT, PT, OT or Current Georgia Licensure in Healthcare related field required upon hire
- Clinical Informaticist Certification required upon hire
Essential Functions:
IMPLEMENTS INFORMATION SYSTEMS:
- Supports the organizations mission. Implements information system applications consistent with the hospital's patient care philosophy.
PROVIDES GUIDANCE:
- Provides guidance to clinical departments in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining efficient, effective clinical information systems.
ACTION PLANS:
- Initiates, maintains and communicates action plans regarding system implementation and support to appropriate members of hospital staff.
TEAM COLLABORATION:
- Collaborates with teams to develop policies and procedures pertaining to use of clinical information systems. Maintains knowledge of standards of accreditation agencies and incorporates same into clinical information systems design standards.
TRAINING DEVELOPMENT:
- Develops and participates in structured training courses for new system upgrades and collaborations with clinical users
- COMMUNICATION - Communicates complex concepts and issues effectively (written and oral) across all levels within the organization. Facilitates problem solving within and between departments.
COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP:
- Maintains membership on, or consultation to, appropriate committees, work groups or task forces as needed to facilitate the ongoing process of the design, implementation and revision of automated and manual components of the clinical information system. Conducts meetings and presentations effectively and professionally.
