JOB SUMMARY

  • The teacher consistently provides developmentally appropriate and child centered activities; serves as a positive role model for children. Functions as a Team Leader, working with teacher assistants and volunteers in the classroom to ensure high quality education for all students.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines
  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization
  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs)
  • Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
  • Wear protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License and meet auto insurability requirements as approved by Phoebe Putney Health System's insurance company.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
  • May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
  • May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
  • May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
  • EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
    • Vocational - Technical Degree in Diploma in a related field, preferably in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) concentration or in lieu of a Technical College Diploma, a Technical College Certificate (TCC) in ECCE concentration with 2 additional years’ experience in a childcare setting (Required)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 - 3 years Teaching in a group environment with young children. (Required)


CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES

  • Required Certifications - Licensures: Satisfactory Criminal Records Check determination (Cogent), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)obtained with 1 year of hire
  • Preferred Certifications - Licensures: Current Georgia Teacher Certification
